Since 1946, I have
had a close association with the famed Blackwoods. James, R.W.,
Roy, Doyle and Cecil have been friends, mentors and role models.
Everything I ever learned about singing, I learned from R.W. Now
his songs, R.W. Jr, and Ron are carrying on the Blackwood
tradition of the finest in Gospel music.
Several weeks ago, the Blackwoods were our special guests for
our annual Homecoming. They literally poured themselves into
minisry of that day. Our nearly 4,000 attendees and special
guests were delighted with these good friends, as was I!
The Blackwoods have an open door invitation to First Assembly. I
am honored to have them as friends and co-laborers. I recommend
them with all my heart.

It was our pleasure
to have had the Blackwoods recently in concert here at our
church. This is a group that was started by the father of the
two remaining male members, Ron and R.W. way back in the early
1930’s. They are well known and very talented performers of
Gospel music and did an excellent job in their performance here

What a wonderful
series of performances you blessed us with in good “ole” South
Texas! We have heard nothing but rave reviews from our guests.
They were especially happy to hear that you will be with us once
again next year.
We know that with the newspaper ad and radio spots, there were a
lot of folks at our parks just to see and hear you that might
never have come in to see us at all. With just a short time
(less than two weeks) we were able to sell 1107 tickets. Just
think what will happen next year with all of the preparation
time that we have available to us. It is our desire to book you
at some of our other properties in Texas also……..

This letter of
thanks and commendation is easy to write! On behalf of Suncoast
Cathedral, thank you for an outstanding concert that ministered
to so many people from the church and the community. We are
still having guests visit our services as a result of that
evening.
The Blackwood Brothers and the Blackwood Singing Group are fare
more than just skilled and gifted singers and musicians. Your
anointed songs uplifted, encouraged and brought joy to the
hearts of those that attended. Several people rededicated their
lives to Christ and others accepted Him for the very first time.

In addition it was such a pleasure to meet and work with you and

I just want to send
a note of thanks for coming to be a part of our “Mortgage
Burning” Celebration. You being here was like ice cream being
added to apple pie. It just gives the finishing touch to make it
great.
I want to convey to you how much we enjoyed the excellent
quality of music, the spirit and emphasis given to ministry, as
well as presenting a great gospel concert. The people from our
